In keeping with the theme of “Hyosung lights up dreams for Vietnamese children,” we have selected Mang Den Town Primary School for Ethnic Minorities as our next stop. This school is situated more than 300 km away from Quang Nam Province, in the mountains of Kon Tum Province. The pupils’ difficult journey to literacy is made even more difficult by the lack of a library and other learning resources, in addition to the difficult and twisting route to school.
On September 7, representatives of Hyosung company participated in the Library Completion Ceremony at Mang Den Primary School. This library is possible not only thanks to the support fund from the company but also from Hyosung directors and employees who shared their monthly salaries to contribute to this achievement. Hyosung also donated 450 books, chess sets, badminton equipment, and other educational supplies in addition to the library.

This library was built with the expectation that it will be a place for students to study and have fun to make up for some of their previous hardships, and at the same time be a motivation to help them study well to help themselves and their families overcome the current difficult situation. The library’s mission statement is “Hyosung will continue to work as a member of the Vietnamese community to make this a brighter and more hopeful place.”
The kids’ excitement was contagious as they entered the library, as seen by their beaming smiles and sparkling eyes. Along with reading books and folding paper airplanes, the kids also participated in their first-ever activities with instructors and Hyosung company personnel. We hope that their ambitions would soar like the paper airplanes.

So, Hyosung continued to light a torch of hope in our journey. Hopefully in the future, Hyosung company will be able to carry out more volunteer projects and programs like this, contributing to the development of Vietnamese children.
